Understanding roles: Owner, Club Admin, Team Admin, Member

What each of Dugout's four roles can actually do, and how they're separate from whether someone plays.

Every person with a login at your club has exactly one of four roles, and none of them have anything to do with whether that person actually plays:

  • Owner: exactly one per club, always. Full control, including billing, and the only role that can add or remove other Club Admins. Whoever creates the club starts out as its Owner.
  • Club Admin: manages billing, creates and deletes teams, and can administer any team at the club. Can't add or remove other Club Admins because that's Owner-only.
  • Team Admin: scoped to one or more specific teams. Can manage fixtures, squads and stats for those teams, but has no access to billing or club-wide settings.
  • Member: can view everything the club can see, and submit their own availability if they have a player record. No admin access at all.

A manager or coach with no player record can still hold any of these roles and administer a team day to day. Role and "do they play" are completely independent. Someone can also hold different roles at different clubs, if they belong to more than one.
